The glass door opens to reveal a clock face with Roman numerals, a winding hole, and a minute and an hour hand. The clock face is inscribed: [Sawin and Dyer / BOSTON].  The throat of the clock is carved and shaped like a lyre complete with strings with a scrolled and foliate decorated body. The pendulum box is framed in block and spiral molding. On the left side is a knob.
