The ears are carved. The vase-shaped splats are pierced with serpentine and diamond-shaped patterns. Each back has two stiles; the backs are connected only at the crest rail. Arms extend horizontally from each exterior stile and connect to serpentine-curved arm supports. A slip cover over the seat obscures the construction of the seat frame. The settee has three cabriole front legs with foliate carving on the knees. The cabriole legs terminate in claw-and-ball feet.
