Four Marlborough legs support three sections of the stand: an upper basin surface, a middle shelf and drawer, and a lower stretcher.    Basin surface: The top of the stand is rectangular when fully open. The top of the stand is composed of three sections: a fixed center panel and two hinged leaves. The fixed central panel has cut-out holes for a wash basin and other items. The two leaves that flank the central panel are each constructed with aprons. When open, the leaves serve as trays, the rims of which are formed by the aprons. When closed, the leaves completely cover the fixed panel and the aprons serve to raise the leaves above the central panel. Two hinges attach the apron of each leaf to the central panel. Opposite the hinges, the aprons are cut in flattened arches to allow clearance for the rim of the wash basin. The fixed center panel is attached to the frame with glue blocks. The glue blocks are scraps from the scrollwork on the aprons of the table. Cyma curve-shaped aprons are mounted just below the center panel.    Middle shelf and drawer: Glue blocks secure the shelf and drawer at the center of the stand. The glue blocks are scraps from the scrollwork on the aprons of the table. The rectangular frame is assembled with mortise and tenon joints. Cyma curve-shaped aprons are mounted below the rails that hold the drawer. The drawer front has a single, brass pull. The drawer front is solid with contrasting string inlay around the edges. The drawer sides come to full height. The drawer bottom is composed of two boards with the grain running side to side. Dovetail construction joins the sides of the drawer to the back, as well as the sides of the drawer to the front. The bottom of the drawer is let into a groove at the front and sides, and glued to the underside of the back. The drawer rests on original runners that are nailed into place. The top and bottom front rails secured with glue.    The legs attach to the case with nails and mortise and tenon joints. The interior edges of the legs are chamfered so as to accept the tenons from the X-shaped stretcher. The central portion of the X-shaped stretcher is connected with an interesting dovetail and half-lap joint."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"5/20/2015"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and
