The front of the case is serpentine with notched inflections corresponding to the stiles that divide the front of the case. The case top follows the profile of the case and overhangs it slightly. The edges of the top are veneered and outlined in string inlay. The case is divided into three sections divided by four stiles. The center section has a drawer surmounting a sliding shelf over a recessed cabinet with doors; the drawer, shelf, and cabinet are separated by full-width dividers. The veneered drawer front is outlined in light wood stringing and has bead molding around the edges. The drawer has two pulls on large circular mounts and a central keyhole. The sliding shelf has two pierced drop pulls. The cabinet recess has a shallow serpentine profile, with two doors covering the convex section. The veneered doors are outlined in light wood stringing and have bead molding around the edges. The right door has a keyhole. The outer sections of the case each consist of three graduated drawers with concave profiles. The drawers are shallow at the sides of the case and deepen toward the center of the center of the case. The dividers between the top two drawers align with the divider between the central drawer and the sliding shelf. The veneered drawer fronts are outlined in light wood stringing and have bead molding around the edges. Each drawer front has a single pull on a large circular mount and a keyhole; on the upper drawer of each section, the keyhole is cut into the back plate of the pull. The lower edge of the case is outlined with dark wood banding surrounded by light wood stringing; the decoration is continuous across the four front stiles. The stiles are continuous with the four front legs, which taper below the case. The fronts of the stiles and legs have light wood stringing outlining the vertical edges. Inlaid cuffs of dark wood banding surrounded by light wood stringing are found on the four front legs and two rear legs. Each of the legs terminates in a therm foot."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"10/31/2018"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and Inscriptions","value":"Printed, paper label on backboard: [JACOB FORSTER, / Cabinet Maker, / CHARLESTOWN, Massachusetts, / Where are Made, / Tables of all kinds, / In the newest and best mode, / Desks, Book Cases, Mahogany Chairs, Sofas, / Lolling & Easy Chairs, Clock Cases, &c.]."},{"label":"Basis of Materials","value":"Mahogany identified as the primary wood according to Israel Sack, Inc.
