The bentwood back is tenoned through the seat with circular tenons, and pinned at the back corners of the seat. The front edge of the bentwood back is decorated with inscribed lines. The bentwood back is gently pinched and curves inward at the base. The back of the chair is composed of seven spindles. The two spindles flanking the central spindle are tenoned through the top of the chair back. The saddle-shaped seat is composed of one white pine board. A cove line outlines the base of the spindles on the seat. There is a pronounced pommel at the front of the seat. The seat rests on four bamboo-turned legs with a bamboo-turned H-stretcher. The legs, stretchers, spindles, and bentwood back are composed of maple. There is evidence of yellow paint on the seat, legs, stretchers and bentwood back.
