The table top is a single board with straight edges and protruding circular corners. The top overhangs the apron on all four sides and the edges are carved with integral half-round molding. The top is glued to the case frame which is composed of three solid boards joined with mortise and tenons at the back corners.  The front of the case contains a shallow top drawer and a deep bottom drawer with a cloth bag for storing needlework materials. The top drawer front is solid mahogany and the sides and bottom are cherry. There is an applied strip of cock-bead molding around the perimeter of the drawer front and a brass keyhole surround at the center flanked by two wooden knobs. The drawer front and sides are joined with dovetails and the drawer bottom is let into a groove in the sides and nailed to the underside of the back. There is a segmented strip of wood applied to interior right front corner and right side of the drawer. The lower drawer is hung from runners glued to the interior sides of the case. The top of the drawer is framed with four strips of wood glued together and has triangular glue blocks in the corners. The lower portion of the drawer is covered with fabric on both the interior and exterior, obscuring the construction, which it is rigid and stands on its own when removed from the table.  The four corners of the frame are carved with protruding three-quarter cylinders which extend between the legs and the table top. There is a triple band of cock-bead molding along the lower edge of the case sides and back which continues across the lower drawer front. The front and rear legs are tapered with turning at the top and bottom and reeding on the shafts.
