The arrow-back chair cants slightly backward and curves slightly left to right. The stiles project just above the height of the crest rail. The crest rail is tenoned and wedged into the stiles. The upper corners of the crest rail are inverted with ogee-and-spurred profiles. The front-facing surfaces of the stiles are flattened at top and cylindrical near the seat; four incised lines delineate the point of transition. The stiles are tenoned and wedged into the seat. Four arrow-shaped spindles are evenly spaced between the stiles. The spindles are tenoned into the crest rail, flare below the crest rail, and taper toward the seat, into which they are tenoned. The plank seat has s-curved sides, a rounded front, and a subtly dished center. Four splayed legs are tenoned into the seat. Turned box stretchers support the legs; the side stretchers are set at a lower height than the front and rear stretchers. The front stretcher is flat and flared at the center. The front legs are incised with two sets of four lines: one set just below the seat and the other at the height of the side stretchers.
