A hinged door is set within a molded and veneered frame and on the left side is a locking mechanism. A glass window in the door reveals the clockface and a painted glass tablet below depicting Croton Fountain in City Hall Park, New York with spectators and a carriage. The clockface denotes time via Roman numerals and hour and minute hands. The works are visible through a circular hole in the center of the clockface.
