The chair has an open back with a pierced splat composed of five converging flat spindles bound together with a chevron at the middle. The spindles are joined at the top and the bottom into a single splat. The front of the shield and supports are molded. The trapezoidal seat has over-the-rail upholstery. The front legs are square and tapering, with fluting on the front legs. The rear legs are square and canted. The legs are attached to the seat rail with mortise and tenon joints. Stretchers are assembled in an H shape with the addition of a rear stretcher. All the stretchers have are plain rectangular profiles and are attached with mortise and tenon joints.    The trapezoidal seat is framed and connected with mortise and tenon joints. The upholstery is replaced with leather top covers attached over the rail with tacks. The front of the seat has a serpentine curve.
