(231.1 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Queen Anne-style eight-day movement tall case clock made of mahogany with veneers of different woods.  A cove-molded pediment with pierced fretwork and molded arch surmounts the hood. At the top front corners and central to the cornice are double-ball-and-spire finials mounted to plinths. On the sides of the hood are arched sidelights. At the front corners are free-standing fluted columns with brass capitals flanking a glazed door with an astragal top. On the left-side of the door is a keyhole escutcheon; the door opens to reveal the composite brass dial with an applied chapter ring. The dial denotes time via Roman and Arabic numerals and pierced and scrolled hour and minute hands. In the lunette is a strike-silent mechanism. The spandrels are decorated by applied cast ornament. Inside the chapter ring is a seconds dial, below which are winding holes flanking a calendar aperture. Ovolo and beveled molding outline the base of the hood.  The hinged trunk door has beaded molding around the edges, and at center is a lightwood veneered rectangular panel with inverted corners framed in dashed string inlay. The left side of the door has a shaped escutcheon. Flanking the door are engaged, fluted columns with brass mounts.  Cavetto molding transitions the case into the base.  The base is framed in dark wood veneer with an inner tablet of lighter veneer with inlaid fans in the corners and an egg shaped decoration at center.
