The chair back frame is painted with floral decorations at the ears, in the bottom corners, and center on the crest and bottom rails. Between the side stiles are three decoratively painted vertical slats: a central urn-shaped slate embellished with swags and faux carvings flanked by pilasters. The blocks at the rear of the seat frame have ogee profiles. The one on the right is forward-facing and the one on the left is right-facing. The front of the seat frame is painted to match the decoration of the chair back. The edges of the front legs are traced in olive green paint.
