(78.7 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Many of the construction and design details on this Rococo Revival-style armchair are obscured or not visible due to its upholstery. The chair back is square with rounded shoulders and a slightly rounded crest rail which is also concave. The back is angled backwards and has a slight curve from crest rail to base. There are two vertical supports at the back extending from seat to crest rail but they are obscured by upholstery. The seat is bell shaped with a rounded back and extended front section. Its construction is obscured by upholstery. The arms are square with a curved arm support, possibly made from one board. The arm support is not continuous with the front leg but its attachment is obscured by upholstery. The arms feature an applied carved handhold shaped like a tiger and covered in a heavy varnish or paint. The two front legs have an ogee bracket shape with a decorative carved scroll at the front and the rear legs are a slightly convex block shape. Their attachment to the seat rail is obscured by upholstery. All four feet have brass castors.  The upholstery is a woven textile featuring a red and orange floral brocade. The upholstery is tufted at the front of the chair and smooth along the backside. Textile covered buttons secure the tufts. The bottom edge of the chair front, sides, and back have a nailed on decorative textile tape and matching fringe. The chair shows evidence of multiple upholstery campaigns.  The arm chair is in poor condition. The upholstery is deteriorating, the springs have come undone, and the rear legs have added support/repair work."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"7/25/2018"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and
