Surmounting the contoured chair back is a flattened-arch crest rail with notched shoulders. The fronts of the crest rail and rear stiles are rounded and outlined with bead molding. There is a lower, rectangular stay rail. A contoured, leather-upholstered panel is mounted between the crest rail and stay rail. The front surface is outlined with two rows of upholstery tacks. The trapezoidal seat is upholstered over the frame. Two rows of upholstery tacks outline the edges of the seat. The baluster-turned front legs terminate in turned feet; the feet may have been made as ball feet, but have been shortened. The chair has rear stump legs. Between the front legs is a double-ball-and-reel-turned stretcher.
