Atop the drumhead is a gilded fleur-de-lis finial. The glass door of the drumhead opens forward to reveal a clock face which denotes time via Roman numerals and a minute and an hour hand. The throat of the clock is shaped like a lyre with gilded volutes at the neck and acanthus leaves forming the body.  The pendulum box is veneered in dark wood with a light wood or gilded and molded frame.
