The clock movement is weight driven and the original brass pendulum, pulleys, and weights are present. Hood: The top of the hood has a continuous arched pediment surmounted by a latticework cornice and three brass finials on fluted square columns. The right and left finials are ball-and-spike form while the center finial features an eagle atop a ball. The front of the hood has a mahogany framed glass dial door that conforms to the rounded arch shape of the pediment. There are also glazed arched windows on either side of the hood case that allow the clock works to be viewed. Two free-standing columns with brass stop-fluting and brass capitals flank the dial door. Thick bevel molding surrounds the front and sides of the hood base.  The painted metal dial has an oval figural scene in the arched top section above a round time circle with inner Roman numeral chapter marks and outer Arabic numerals denoting minutes. In addition to the hour and minute hands, there is a smaller time circle with Arabic numerals for seconds and an arched display window near the bottom that tracks the calendar days. There are two keyholes near the bottom for winding the clock works behind the dial. The four corner spandrels outside the time circle are decorated with painted floral groupings inside gilt borders. The oval scene at the top of the dial depicts a woman holding an anchor seated on a rock in front of a seascape. The scene is outlined in black with gilt overlay.    Trunk: The front edges of the tall, narrow trunk feature quarter columns with brass stop-fluting and brass capitals. Thick bevel molding surrounds the front and sides of the trunk base. A rectangular door at the front of the trunk is attached with two butt hinges along the right side. The front of the door is outlined with lightwood string inlay with four inlaid lightwood fans in the corners.    Base: The front surface of the base is decorated with horizontal figured mahogany veneer and outlined with lightwood string inlay with four inlaid lightwood fans in the corners.
