Overall paint treatment of yellow paint with areas of black lining, and gilding. The rectangular back is slightly curved for comfort. The turned crest rail has a central tablet. The back has a wide, curved horizontal slat mounted above a narrow, straight horizontal slat. The trapezoidal seat frame is constructed with mortise and tenon joints with evidence of later nails used. The rush seat appears to be original. Seat trim with decorative painting is nailed to the seat frame. The turned rear stiles are continuous with the back legs, which taper slightly. The front legs are turned, tapered, and terminate in small ball feet. The chair has six turned stretchers: one front stretcher, one back stretcher, and two side stretchers on each side.
