The rectangular back is bent for comfort with curved shoulders, yoke-back crest rail, and a vasiform splat. The rear stiles are continuous with the back legs. The rear stiles are chamfered along the back edges. There is an applied shoe. The trapezoidal seat is constructed with pegged mortise and tenon joints. The seat rails are carved and shaped for decoration: The front has a semi-circular drop at the center flanked by curved cutouts; the side rails feature wide arches that terminate in a cyma arch in the back corner. Glue blocks on the underside of the seat appear to have been replaced. The slip seat retains its original rush seat surface. The front cabriole legs have ogee-shaped knee blocks and pad feet that have a slight reveal on the rear of the feet where they meet the leg. The rear legs are cylindrical above the stretchers and a thicker, square shape below the stretchers. Stretchers are H-shaped with an additional rear stretcher. All stretchers are baluster-turned in a typical pattern characteristic of Boston construction. The left knee block has been repaired.
