(49.5 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Queen Anne side chair with a solid, vase-shaped splat back, cabriole front legs, and pad feet. The back has a yoke-shaped crest rail. The rear stiles are continuous with the back legs and chamfered along the back edges. The vasiform splat is tenoned into a shaped horizontal rail above the seat. The chair currently has red artificial leather over-the-rail upholstery finished with upholstery nails along the front corners of the seat; it was likely reupholstered in 1954, along with DAPC_2014-0163. There are pit-sawing marks on the inside left seat rail. The front cabriole legs are flanked by ogee-shaped knee blocks; the right front and left side knee blocks appear to be replaced. The front legs terminate in pad feet. The rear legs are chamfered on all sides above the rear stretcher and raked back at the foot. The side stretchers are baluster-turned while the rear and medial stretchers are turned with bulbous centers.
