(106.7 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Cherry cradle with double cyma curved bonnet edges. The bonnet top is made of three overlapping boards nailed to the one another and to the bonnet sides, back and front apron. The arched apron has an incised line along the curved edge. The apron is nailed into a notch cut into the sides. The bonnet sides are separate boards with grain running vertically. The bonnet sides are attached with an exposed mortise and tenon joint to the horizontal side boards of the cradle.    The sides of the cradle are attached to the foot board with exposed dovetail joints. The foot board is canted outward and has a double arched cyma curve. The case back is a single board with vertical grain, nailed into rabbets at the case and bonnet sides and the bottom board. An ogee molding is nailed to the case bottom on all sides of the cradle.    The cradle bends are demi-lune with a scrolled edge. The bends are nailed to the case. A cylindrical octagonal faceted stretcher is attached with a through tenon joint into the sides of the bends. The front bend has a patch of pine at the stretcher joint.    A simple brass bail pull is attached to the center of the back; holes on the footboard indicate the probabe location of a second bail pull, now missing.
