The lid has quarter-round molding around the edges and an original keyhole surround. The interior has a central prospect door, blocked and fan carved, with a foliate-shaped keyhole surround. The door is flanked by two document drawers with turned half columns with urn-and-flame finials. The drawers are flanked by four pigeonholes with valances with carved arches and scrolled bottom edges and dividers with scrolled front edges, over two drawers with convex blocked fronts and round knobs. These are flanked by six stacked drawers with concave blocked fronts surmounted by fan carving. The case is blocked in three distinct sections terminating in sharp corners at the top. The four graduated drawers have their original escutcheons and bail pulls, with cock-bead molding around the drawer openings. Cove-and-quarter-round molding tops a narrow skirt with a scrolled pendant.
