(52.1 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Empire-style side chair constructed of mahogany and ash. The chair has a rectangular back and curved profile. The tablet crest rail has a central, raised panel of veneer. The rear stiles are joined to the seat rail and continuous with the back legs. The rear stiles are composed of multiple pieces of wood and have a decorative molding on the front. The framed, trapezoidal seat is constructed with mortise and tenon joints. There is an applied molding on the sides and front of the seat rail. The four corner blocks have been replaced. Modern, yellow, fixed upholstery. In the center of the underside of the rear rail and on the two sides of the center on the front rail, there are large holes with modern screws. The two front legs are turned, reeded, and tapered, while the back legs are sabre legs. All legs are attached with mortise and tenon joints. The tablet has been repaired. Back appears to be lopsided due to the various numbers of repairs. Large repair where the left side rail meets the leg. Repair where the right side rail meets the leg.
