(61.9 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Chippendale-style, straight-front desk-and-bookcase made of mahogany and cherry primary wood and white pine secondary wood.  Surmounting the upper case is a broken triangular pediment with dentil and egg-and-dart moldings and a ball-and-eagle central finial. The upper case has two glazed doors backed with curtains. The glass panes are divided by mullions. Flanking the doors are fluted pilasters. On the fall-front surface is a batwing escutcheon with a keyhole. Inside the desk are two sets of three small stacked drawers (the top one a shell) and two pigeonholes with concave valances above a single drawer with a knob flanking a central prospect door with smooth pilasters topped by flame finials. Below are four drawers, the top set within knobbed lopers, with additional egg-and-dart molding at the skirt with a central drop. On the sides of both the upper and lower cases are bail pulls. The legs are cabriole with double-ogee brackets on claw-and-ball feet.
