Each table has a rectangular drop leaf that is attached with surface-mounted hinges. The fixed demi-lune table tops are each a single board. A rectangular leaf, also a single board, fits between the two rectangular ends of the tables. Each fixed top is attached to the skirt with glue blocks in the corners and screws in pockets. The curved skirt is built from laminated solid wood that is veneered on the outside. The curved sections are joined to the solid mahogany straight section using mortise and tenon joints. The lower edge of the skirt is ornamented with cross banding and light wood stringing.  Two long extension rails pass through matching mortises in the straight side of the skirt to support the extension leaf. To secure the table in the fully extended orientation, the leaf rails have round holes drilled through the ends that fit pegs. When inserted, the pegs prevent the leaves from separating. The top is further secured in the extended position by U-shaped brass cleats that are affixed to the underside of the drop leaves and the extension leaf. The cleats accept separate brass clips that lock the leaves flush to one another.  The tables have four square tapered legs joined to the curved apron, and two additional swing legs joined to the straight side using wooden knuckle joints. The legs are all joined using mortise and tenon joints. All of the legs have a section of cross banding and stringing near the bottom.
