The chest has a lower case of four drawers and a tiered upper case with a pediment atop.  The upper case consists of a pediment of two plinths supporting a backboard atop two sets of drawers. Both sets of drawers consist of two horizontally aligned drawers, each with two knobs flanking a keyhole; the case of the top set of drawers is slightly smaller than the second set. The upper case is detachable.  The lower case has molded edges and consists of four drawers. The upper drawer is devoid of knobs, but does have a keyhole and a curved drawer front. The lower three drawers each have two knobs flanking a keyhole. The drawer fronts have bookmatched veneer.
