The seat, back and sides of the couch are covered in red upholstery. The upholstery is secured with brass upholstery tacks. The front rail of the couch is veneered with figured mahogany. The back of the sofa is rectangular in shape with a straight profile. The serpentine crest rail has carved scroll decoration. The top surface of the crest rail is slightly sun bleached. The scrolled arms have stylized acanthus leaf carvings at the front. The rectangular seat is constructed with springs. The sofa has two scrolled, rounded, and carved front legs and two rounded back legs.
