The top of the stand is composed of one board with rounded front edge. Glue blocks secure the top of the stand to the piece. Two side boards that rise above the top of the stand are secured together at the center with dovetail construction and glued into place at the base. The frame of the piece is quarter-circle in shape with straight sides and a bowed front. The frame is secured to the legs with mortise and tenon construction. The shelf below the top of the stand composed of one board with rounded front edge. The lower shelf has one drawer at the front. The drawer front is solid with the drawer sides coming to full height. The bottom of the drawer is composed of one board with the grain running front to back. Dovetail construction joins the sides of the drawer to the back as well as the sides of the drawer to the front. The drawer bottom is nailed to the underside of the back. The stand terminates in two front sabre legs and one rear Marlborough leg.
