The birdcage back has seven bamboo-turned spindles that are tenoned through a horizontal spindle below the crest rail. Three of the vertical spindles continue up through the crest rail. The curved arms terminate in a scrolled hand hold. The arm supports are tenoned through the seat and one other spindle each supports the arm. A shallow cove outlines the perimeter of the flat seat. The bamboo-turned legs and stretchers have incised lines through their slightly bulbous turnings.
