The crest of the chair has three miniature spindles connecting the top rail and bottom rail, creating four open spaces. The stiles cant slightly outward. Bellflower-inspired decoration is painted on the top and bottom rods of the crest and along the top front surfaces of the stiles. Between the stiles are seven bamboo-turned spindles. The stiles and spindles each have a painted green ring about a quarter of way up from the seat. Above the green rings, the spindles are painted with a single vertical green line that terminates just below the bottom rail of the crest. The plank seat is balloon-shaped and slightly dished. Around the perimeter of the seat is a painted green line. The front edge of the seat is chamfered and painted with bellflower-inspired decoration. The four bamboo-turned legs are splayed. Each has three green painted rings that divide the leg into four equal segments. Front and rear stretchers are tenoned into the legs at the level of the middle ring; the side stretchers are at the level of the lower ring."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"12/11/2018"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and Inscriptions","value":"Label: [SAMUEL H.
