The single board case top overhangs the case front and sides and has integral half-round molding on those edges. A straight gallery runs almost the whole width of the sideboard along the back edge and is screwed into a notch cut in the case top. The top edge of the gallery has applied bevel molding and the front surface is veneered with figured mahogany. The right and left ends of the gallery have rectangular panels defined by applied strips of bead molding. The center of the gallery front has an additional rectangular panel of veneer with a rectangular cutout in the center with rounded ends.  The case sides are panel framed with a recessed center panel surrounded by four boards. The front edges of the case each have a free standing column mortise and tenoned into a mahogany block at the top and bottom. The columns have a smooth mahogany shaft with a turned, round base and capital. Above the capital, a geometric brass mount encircles a plain mahogany cylinder. The rectangular blocks above and below the columns are decorated with applied bead molding around the front edges.  The case front has a projecting top with three side-by-side drawers over three cupboard doors below. The door fronts have vertical branched mahogany veneer panels surrounded by a framework of figured mahogany veneer strips. Each door has a central rectangular section with a rounded arch top defined by an outline of applied quarter-round molding. The doors are all hinged to the case with two butt hinges along the right edge. Inside, the cupboards each have one fixed shelf across the center.  The three drawers are of equal depth but the center drawer front is slightly wider and covers the vertical drawer dividers inside the case. The drawer fronts are veneered with figured mahogany and the center drawer has an additional rectangular panel of veneer with a rectangular cutout in the center with rounded ends, matching the veneer on the center of the gallery. Each drawer has two brass wreath-shaped mounts with ring pulls and a brass keyhole surround and lock at the top. The drawer sides and back are solid mahogany and the drawer bottoms are white pine. The drawer sides and back are joined with dovetails on all three drawers. On the side drawers, the drawers sides and front are also joined with dovetails. On the center drawer, the sides are joined to the front with sliding dovetails and the drawer front extends about 1\" (2.5 cm) beyond each side. The drawer bottom is one side-to-side pine board let into a groove in the sides and nailed to the underside of the back. The drawers rest on the upper case bottom, above the cupboards, and two vertical dividers attached with sliding dovetails separate them inside the case.  The sideboard is supported by four carved feet attached to the case with mortise and tenons. The front feet are large carved paws, each with four toes and gold painted acanthus leaf carving around the ankle. The rear feet have a turned acorn shape terminating in a ball.  The screws holding the gallery in place are loose and the gallery is separating from the case at the left end.
