(52.7 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"A Queen Anne-style dressing table constructed of mahogany with mahogany veneer and American tulip poplar secondary wood. The top has eight veneered panels of burl mahogany in a border of herringbone banding, with a broad outer border of plain wood; the edges of the top are quarter-round molded. The case has five drawers with cock-bead molding around the drawer openings and a second line of cock-bead molding framing the overall drawer area. The drawers are arranged in a row of two over a row of three, with the center drawer half the height of the drawers flanking it. Each drawer has a figured veneer panel in a herringbone banding border and a bail pull on an engraved escutcheon. The pull on the lower right drawer lacks the center rings found on the other pulls, although the escutcheon appears to match the other escutcheons. The front of the case is veneered with a figured wood; the sides of the case are not veneered. The skirt is flat arched, aside from the front center arch, which is serpentine; the skirt is edged with cock-bead molding and has two turned spike pendants.
