The molded bentwood forms a balloon shape. The back has eight bamboo-turned spindles tenoned to the plank. The spindle platform is grooved and forms the back of the shield-shaped seat. The seat is slightly dished and at front is chamfered, forming a subtle pommel. The four bamboo-turned legs are splayed.
