The table top consists of one fixed and one hinged leaf; when open, they form a circular top. The upper and lower edges of the hinged leaf are outlined with banding of alternating light and dark wood rectangles. The edge of the fixed leaf is molded. The top overhangs the apron, which conforms to the profile of the top. The table's four legs divide the front of the apron into three sections, each of which is outlined in light wood stringing and inlaid with a light wood motif of crossed branches. The lower edge of the apron is outlined with dark wood banding surrounded by light wood stringing; the banding continues across the fronts of the legs, which project slightly from the plane of the apron. Above the banding, the top of each leg is inlaid in light wood with four petals forming a cross shape. Below the banding, the therm legs are outlined in light wood stringing."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"10/31/2018"},{"label":"Materials","value":"Unidentified wood"},{"label":"Style","value":["Federal"]},{"label":"Basis of Date","value":"Date range provided by Kipper (about 1950) based on characteristics of design and construction."},{"label":"Date (EDTF)","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1810 - D:00 M:00 Y:1815"},{"label":"Basis of Origin","value":"Based on attribution to Foster, who worked in Charlestown."},{"label":"Place of Origin","value":"Charlestown, Massachusetts"},{"label":"Basis of Maker Attribution","value":"Attributed to Forster by Kipper (about 1950) without supporting evidence, according to former DAPC cataloger, JJE (1969)."},{"label":"Maker","value":["Forster, Jacob, cabinetmaker and manufacturer, 1764-1838, active about 1786-about 1831"]},{"label":"Other Name","value":"Game table; Gaming table"},{"label":"Object Type","value":["Table"]},{"label":"Object Use","value":"Support furniture"},{"label":"Category","value":"Furniture"},{"label":"Title","value":"Card table"},{"label":"Date Modified","value":"10/31/2018"}],"description":"Card table","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/d1cc88d1-3bba-4f9a-862e-28e3aa5518c6/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"Card table","height":1182,"width":1500,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/d1cc88d1-3bba-4f9a-862e-28e3aa5518c6/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/d1cc88d1-3bba-4f9a-862e-28e3aa5518c6","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4]}]},"height":1182,"width":1500},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/d1cc88d1-3bba-4f9a-862e-28e3aa5518c6/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/d1cc88d1-3bba-4f9a-862e-28e3aa5518c6/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/d1cc88d1-3bba-4f9a-862e-28e3aa5518c6/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/winterthur/iiif/logo"}
