A fretted cornice bisected by a central chalice-and-spire finial atop a fluted square column crowns the clock hood along with cavetto and torus molding. The overhanging top board of the hood is inlaid with holly and boxwood around the front and sides in a chevron pattern. The boxwood is stained dark to resemble ebony. The dial door, which is flanked by inlay in a chevron pattern, has a bell-shaped window exposing the dial face, with a knob on the left side. Roman numerals denote time with minute and hour hands and seconds are tracked by Arabic digits at each quarter hour. Below the dial are painted floral designs flanking the maker's inscription, which reads: [WARRANTED BY / E TABER]. Cavetto molding separates the hood from the bottom section, which is outlined in two shades in holly and boxwood string inlay. The base of the bottom section has stepped molding. The clock sits on ogee bracket feet. According to Old Sturbridge Village, [WG] is painted on the back of the dial, perhaps by the artist who painted the dial. Cleaning notes are inscribed on the front plate of the movement: [Cleaned by E. Taber - 3 Dec. 1821], [Cleaned by E. Taber - Nov. 20, 1826], and [Cleaned by E. Taber - Oct. 5, 1833]."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"7/20/2018"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and Inscriptions","value":"Inscribed on dial: [WARRANTED BY / E. TABER].
