The top of the stand is composed of one board with reeding on the front and side edges of the top board. Glue blocks secure the top of the stand to the piece. Two side boards that rise above the top of the stand are secured together at the center with dovetail construction and glued into place at the base. The frame of the piece is quarter-circle in shape with straight sides and a bowed front. The frame is secured to the legs with mortise and tenon joints. The shelf below the top of the stand is composed of one board with quarter round molding along the front and sides. The lower shelf has one drawer at the front. The drawer front is veneered with raised bead molding. The raised bead molding is constructed using individual pieces of mahogany attached to the drawer front top, bottom, and sides that overlap the front of the drawer. There is a small repaired patch on the top of the drawer. The drawer sides come to full height. Plane marks are visible on the drawer back. The right drawer side has been repaired. The bottom of the drawer is composed of one board with the grain running side to side with chamfering at the front and sides. Dovetail joinery attaches the drawer sides to the back. Nails join the drawer sides to the drawer front. The drawer rests on runners. The pull on the drawer front believed to be original. The stand terminates in two front sabre legs and one rear Marlborough leg.
