The table top is rectangular with rounded corners when fully open. The drop leaves and the central fixed top are each a single rectangular board, with the outer corners of the drop leaves rounded off. The tabletop overhangs slightly at the front and back; opening the drop leaves creates a substantial overhang on the sides. The tabletop has molded edges on all sides, with a bead on each side of a half-round. The leaves are attached to the fixed top with surface hinges screwed to the underside. A quarter round on the edge of the fixed top and a cove on the edge of each leaf allows the leaves to fold up or down. The fixed top is attached with screws in pockets, which pierce through the frame. The table top is light damaged.    The table frame or case is constructed in two layers on the sides of the table. An exterior framing board joins to the corner blocks with mortise and tenons; an interior pine framing board, with additional vertical strips in the front and back, has been nailed to the exterior frame from the inside. Screws in pockets pass through both layers into the tabletop, with each side of the table having one screw entering from the exterior and one from the interior. The exterior framing board has been cut to create a swinging leaf support, with a knuckle hinge reinforced with a dowel and a diagonal edge with a carved handhold. The fixed portion of the board has a matching handhold cut out.    The back of the table has been finished, with two recessed panels created by using different thicknesses of figured mahogany veneer; these panels mimic the drawers on the front of the table. The veneers have been severely light damaged. The secondary wood of the table back is a single pine board, attached to the table top with a screw in a pocket from the interior.    The two drawers of the work table are accessed from the front. The drawers rest on pine runners inside the case, which are nailed in place and appear to be original. The runners abut the drawer dividers at the front, and corner blocks at the rear. These corner blocks are the full height of the interior and are nailed to the case back. There is a single drawer stop for the lower drawer, applied to the right corner block; presumably there would have been additional drawer stops originally. The top front rail and the two drawer dividers are mortise and tenoned to the case sides; the top rail is also screwed to the underside of the table top. Gouges are cut in the underside of the top rail and first drawer divider to accommodate the drawer locks. The fronts of the top rail and dividers have a thick veneer of figured mahogany.    The drawers have figured mahogany veneer on the front, matching the veneer on the case back. The drawer fronts also have a mahogany facing on the top edge. Each drawer has two turned mushroom shaped knobs, and a lock with a brass surround at the center top. The knobs of the lower drawer have been damaged. The sides of the drawers are full height with flat top edges, as are the drawer backs. The sides of the drawers are joined to the fronts and backs with dovetails. The drawer bottoms are each a single board, oriented side to side, with chamfering at the front and sides. They are let into grooves at the front and sides and are nailed to the undersides of the backs. The top drawer is divided, with three small compartments at the front and a large compartment forming the remainder of the drawer. The dividers are set in grooves in the front and sides of the drawer. The dividers are less than full height with rounded top edges. The top drawer also has green paint or a green wash on the interior.    The table has four identical legs, which are continuous with the corners of the frame. The legs are spiral turned with ring turnings at the top and bottom. The ball feet are continuous with the legs. Some of the turnings have flat edges, seemingly due to the block of wood not having been wide enough to accommodate the turnings.
