The clock is divided into two sections with an upper dial face and a lower perpetual calendar operated by the top movement.    Upper section: The top of the upper section of the clock has a triangular pediment with fretwork on either side. The fretwork for the right side of the pediment is missing. The upper pediment also has three holes for finials, now missing, to be attached. The upper section was originally covered with door of glass set in a decorative wooden frame with fretwork. The glass and many of the frame pieces are now missing. The top and bottom edges of the upper section are decorated with cove, quarter-round, and roll moldings that are nailed into place. The base of the upper section has two solid, circular, scrolled front feet with applied brass coverings. The front right foot is damaged and missing its brass covering. The brass movement is housed at the back of the upper section and features a striking mechanism and pendulum. One winding hole appears on the dial face. The pulleys and weights are missing. The dial face is engraved [S. Willard] at the center with Roman and Arabic numerals on the edges of the dial. Hour and minute hands are present. The circumference of the dial is decorated with gadrooning.    Lower section: The lower section of the piece contains a perpetual calendar, displaying the day of the month, sunrise and sunset, and high tide. The text and figures necessary to read this information are printed on paper applied to the wooden movement. Water damage has discolored the paper along the lower edge. The top and bottom edges of the lower section are decorated with cove moldings that are nailed into place. The door enclosing the lower section retains its glass panel and is framed by decorative carvings. The door frame is constructed with mortise and tenon joins. The back of the lower section is dovetailed and nailed.
