Rails are connected with mortise and tenon joints and dovetails. Two central support beams run from the head to the foot and underlay the upholstery foundation. There is braiding on the back of the headrest at the sides and at the base. The lower end of the daybed is doweled to the frame. The curving headrest has a carved acanthus leaf on the left side; the right side is plain veneer. The legs also have carved foliage cuffs above short tapered columns with a small ring at the bottom. The rails and turned legs are veneered with figured mahogany.
