The stand is constructed as a case on legs. Each case side is framed, with a recessed central panel floating between a narrow upper rail, a wider lower rail, and the stiles. The side edges are squared. The case back is also framed with a recessed central panel. The case bottom is composed of a single board attached with glue blocks. The case front is almost entirely decorated with book matched veneer. The veneer figuring is continuous over both movable and fixed elements of the case, likely having been derived from one single piece of wood (starting at the bottom of the case doors and extending up to the front of the lid). The front surfaces of the front stiles are edged with cock bead molding.  The case top is rectangular with narrow boards mortised and tenoned along the edges in order to form a shallow lid. The lid is attached to the case with hinges at the rear. An angular bead molding is glued to the front and side edges of the lid. The lid has a central decorative brass knob.  Immediately below the lid, the case has a fixed shelf attached with nails. It is pierced with three circular holes to accommodate a basin and other toilet articles: one large central hole and two small holes at the rear right and left sides. Below the shelf, the case has two doors revealing a central open interior. The right door has a brass knob and a long brass mount affixed to the front to cover the crack between the two doors. The panel-framed doors are faced with book matched vertical veneer.  Below the doors, the case has a single drawer faced with horizontal veneer and two brass knobs. The drawer sides are full height. The drawer bottom is composed of a single board with grain running from side to side and chamfering at the front and sides. The drawer construction is reinforced by glue blocks with half blind dove tails at the sides and front and through dovetails at the sides and back. The drawer bottom is let into a groove at the front and sides and nailed to the underside of the back. The drawer rests on original runners attached to the case with nails. The top and bottom drawer rails are mortise and tenoned into the case sides.  The case has four turned legs that are continuous with the front and rear stiles and mortised and tenoned to the other case components. The tapered, turned legs are shaped with a number of thin rings, culminating in small circular elements into which castors are screwed.
