The chest consists of two sections: a small upper section of two drawers with a shaped backboard atop a wider, deeper case of four drawers. The surmounting backboard slopes inward at the corners and then scrolls outward into volutes with floral rosettes. The backboard's side brackets have three-quarter round and ogee shapings. Decorative molding trims the top edge of the upper case. Each of the two veneered drawer fronts have two engraved knobs flanking a central keyhole. The upper case does not extend to the full width of the lower case and it is recessed from the front.  The top of the lower case has Half-round molding along the front and side overhanging edges. The top drawer projects over the three recessed drawers below. Freestanding, smooth columns flank the three lower drawers, support the overhanging upper section, and rest on projections from the case bottom. There are ring turnings at the tops and bottoms of the turned columns. Each of the four drawers have two engraved knobs flanking a central keyhole and have veneered drawer fronts. The case has a thick case bottom with a row of decorative molding along the case sides and front. The case has four turned legs. The legs are ring- and ball-turned with an inverted vase-shaped shaft. They terminate in turned feet.
