The case top is made from two boards with overhanging edges on all sides with an integral ogee molding. The top is attached with glue blocks and there three visibly missing glue blocks across the back of the case. The top is mortise and tenoned to the case sides, which are made of one board on each side. The right side board is possibly replaced as it is thicker than the left board and the bottom edge is not finished smoothly. The mortise and tenon joint at the front right corner is separating. The case back is made out of two horizontal butt-jointed boards which have a second board laminated to the interior surface. The case back is dovetailed to the case sides with half-blind dovetails and reinforced with corner blocks screwed in the bottom corners. There is significant horizontal cracking across both case sides.  The case front has one narrow top drawer the width of the case and three drawers at the bottom with a wider one in the center. The vertical stiles in the front corners of the case are veneered with mahogany. The shaped skirt is solid mahogany carved with three notched arches and acorn-shaped drops, with the same arches on each case side. The drops are damaged where they connect to the skirt and reinforced with pine blocks on the interior. There is damage to the left acorn drop where it connects to the skirt and is lacking the back part of the square molding. There is no case bottom. The drawers are the case bottom and there are three drawer supports running from the front to back underneath each of the three drawers, mortise and tenoned into the case back and rabbeted into the apron. The drawer fronts are solid with an integral quarter-round molding and the center drawer has a flat carved arch shape around the bail pull. The brass bail pulls with the brass back plates appear to be original. The drawer sides are not full height and there is a bead molding at the inner sides of the bottom drawers. The drawer backs are planed. The small drawers are made with one board and the large drawer is made with two, with a side to side grain. The drawer sides are dovetailed together and the drawers bottoms are nailed on all four sides. The drawers rest on both original and replaced runners, with runners nailed and glued to the case sides and mortise and tenoned ones for the inner drawer sides. The top front rail is mortise and tenoned to the case sides and screwed to the case top. The horizontal divider is mortise and tenoned into the case sides, while the vertical dividers have a sliding dovetail and the bottom and are mortise and tenoned into the horizontal divider. All of the dividers are solid wood.  The legs are cabriole legs with knee blocks, screwed into corner blocks. The carved knee blocks are on the front and sides of the front legs and on the sides of the rear legs only. The right rear leg has a repaired diagonal break across the center of the shaft.
