Davis, 1967."},{"label":"Description","value":"Paneled chest with drawer on legs. The chest lid overhangs the case front and sides and has molded edges. The case sides are framed with recessed panels. The case front is panel framed. A central stile divides the front into two panels. Molding is applied within the panels on the exterior to create six sided geometric figures. Upper and lower horizontal rails have the same integral molding profile as the central stile. A keyhole is fitted in the center of the upper rail. Below the front panel is a single full-width drawer. Molding is applied to the drawer front to create two rectangular fields, each the width of the six-sided panels above; the moldings give the illusion of two drawers. There is a single wooden knob in the center of each panel. The case stiles are continuous with the legs, which are supported with box stretchers. The legs and stretchers are bobbin turned. The legs terminate in ball feet.  The surface is painted black-brown.
