The curved back consists of seven spindles tenoned through the oblong plank. Around the perimeter of the plank is a bentwood bow that is fixed to the front rod of the hood and twenty-one tapered spindles tenoned through the bow. The plank had chamfered edges around the top edge and rounded along the bottom.
