The edges of the upholstery are covered by a cream colored textile trim. The piece was reupholstered in 1972, in cream colored fabric with a subtle background stripe and a cabbage rose pattern. The underside of the board bottom has been painted in a yellow-brown color, while the exterior edge has been painted a green-gold color. The worn edges of the plank show that it is made of a light colored wood, but other wood characteristics can not be identified. There are six mushroom shaped turned feet, affixed to the bottom plank with screws. Exposed unpainted areas indicate that two of the feet have been moved; these two feet have a slightly different profile from the rest and have less wear on the bottom, indicating that they are replacements. One of these replacement feet and one original foot have newer, Philips head screws, whereas the other four are affixed with flat head screws. The feet are varnished and appear to be made of mahogany or another dark hardwood.  Across the bottom of the stool are two strips of masking tape with illegible graphite writing, which is likely a note from the 1972 reupholstery project."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"7/25/2018"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and Inscriptions","value":"None found"},{"label":"Basis of Materials","value":"The upholstery cover and trim are visible on the piece.
