(90.2 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Empire-style card table of mahogany with white pine secondary wood. When fully open, the table top forms a square with ogee curves cut out of the sides. There are two lines of pale stringing around the edge of the table top. The fixed top and the hinged top are each made of two boards. When the table is closed, there are overhanging edges on the front and sides. The fixed top is attached to the frame with screws in screw pockets. The frame follows the same profile as the top and is created with laminated boards. The exterior surfaces of the frame are veneered. Cock-bead molding is nailed to the underside of the frame. The frame is screwed together at the front and mortise and tenoned at the back. The legs function as the corners of the frame and are screwed in place. All four legs are turned, tapered, and reeded with cup and ring turnings at top and bottom. The legs swell slightly toward the middle. The front legs have additional turnings at the top, centered within table frame.
