The bentwood curved outline is tenoned through the seat, and ringed with a decorative incised line that follows the curve of the wood. There are eight spindles, which are tenoned through the top of the bentwood. The spindles are turned and ornamented with double incised lines. The seat is saddle shaped, and carved from one board. Incised lines outline the back curve of the seat, framing and following the row of spindles. Glue is visible along the cracks found on the underside of the seat. There are four turned legs, joined with an H-stretcher. Incised lines decorate the joints where the H-stretcher is tenoned into the legs. There is evidence of multiple layers of varnish, applied unevenly over time--especially on the bentwood outline and all surfaces of the seat. The spindles, bentwood outline, seat, and left and center stretchers are made from a ring porous hardwood with rays, identified as oak. The legs and right stretcher are turned from a softwood with resin canals, identified as pine."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"1/27/2019"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and Inscriptions","value":"Brand on underside of seat: [T.
