When fully open, the table is square with notched corners. The table is composed of one fixed board and one folding leaf, bother are made from a single board. The fixed board is attached to the apron with screws fitted into pockets. The folding leaf is attached to the fixed top by a knife hinge. There is also a stub tenon at the back of the fixed top to keep the together when open. When closed the table top overhangs at the front and sides.  The back rail is dovetailed into the case side at the left and nailed onto the fixed rail at the right. The right edge is chamfered into a curve. The fixed rail is tenoned into the right case side. The curve of the apron is composed of brickwork which is attached to the case sides and front legs by screws. Strips of wood and glue blocks obscure the joinery between the front legs and the front rail. Applied strips of bead molding cover the bottom edge of the apron. The swing rail is joined to the fixed rail with a knuckle joint and a wood pintle. The knuckle joint has a cross inscribed in a circle and a square on the bottom. The swing rail is dovetailed into the rear left leg. The other legs are tenoned into the case sides. The therm legs are squared and continuous. The angle of the taper become more pronounced at the feet.
