The tabletop consists of a fixed leaf and a hinged leaf. When open, the table top is square with notched, curved corners. The front and side edges of the tabletop leaves are inlaid with banding and stringing. The apron follows the profile of the tabletop. The front and sides of apron are divided into five fields defined by the placement of the notches. Each of the fields is veneered with figured mahogany. The center front field is inlaid with a light wood oval. Decorative banding is applied along the lower edge of the apron, including across the fronts of the legs. The front legs project slightly from the plane of the apron. A sand-shaded shell is inlaid on the front surface of the two front legs, above the horizontal banding. Below the banding, the fronts of the legs are outlined in light wood stringing that arches at the top.
