Hood: The arched hood has a continuous fretwork pediment along the front edge with fluted, square columns at the apex of the arch and in both front corners. Brass ball and spire finials are mounted on each column. Cove molding is nailed below the pediment and continues along the top edges of the hood sides. The hood?ÇÖs sides have free standing, fluted columns with brass caps at the top and bottom. The front vertical edges of the hood have concave chamfering to accommodate the columns. Lights, or glass windows, are built into both sides of the hood; cracks extend from just below the lights to the base of the hood. The hood door is arched with a brass knob. The arched dial face is painted and gilded metal with hour, minute, and second dials. The clock portion of the dial face is the square lower section, which features both Roman and Arabic numerals as well as decorative scrolls and motifs in the corners. [Aaron Willard / Boston] is stenciled on the dial face. The dial arch is painted with a rural scene of a house by a stream. Extant works include two pulleys, two weights, and one key for the truck door.    Trunk: Double cove molding separates the hood and the trunk. The front edges of the rectangular trunk have fluted quarter columns with brass caps at the top and bottom sitting on rectangular bases. The rectangular trunk door has a dial door lock, but no hardware surrounds the lock opening. The door?ÇÖs edges have an integral, quarter-round molding. The door?ÇÖs edges are outlined with a barber pole inlay.    Base: Large cove molding and smaller quarter-round molding separate the trunk and base. The molding is attached with nails. Barber pole inlay outlines the edges of the front of the base. The base rests on four ogee bracket feet. Both of the front feet display repaired breaks.
