Upper case: The upper case top is composed of multiple boards that are attached with nails at either end. A double bead and cove molding has been nailed to the front and sides of the case top. Following the initial molding, the top has a broken, cyma-curved pediment terminating in a continuation of the double bead and cove molding. Directly below the pediment molding are two scrolled edges integral to the case front framing a central projection with three rounded segments. A crack runs across the upper right side of the pediment. The case sides are composed of two boards with squared edges. The case back is attached with nails. The upper case bottom could not be examined. It is surrounded by a cascading double cove and bead molding. The upper case has seven drawers with three small drawers at the top and four wider, graduated drawers below. The drawer fronts are solid wood with integral bead molding. The drawers have applied running strips, and the sides are full height. The bottom of the lowest drawer is composed of a single board with grain running from front to back and chamfering on the side edges. The drawers are constructed with dovetails and the bottom is let into a groove in the sides and nailed to the underside of the front and back. The drawers rest on runners that are glued to the case sides, and the bottom drawer rests on the case bottom. The upper case has four horizontal dividers rabbeted and glued to the case sides. It has two vertical dividers attached with rabbets. The dust boards are half-length.    Lower case: The lower case top is surrounded with half-round molding. The sides are single boards, both of which have split. They are mortise and tenoned to the tops of the legs and secured with pegs. The straight skirt has cyma-curved projections at all corners and two in the front to accommodate two drops, which are now missing. The lower case has four drawers: one thin drawer extending the full length of the case front and three thin bottom drawers. The center bottom drawer is faced with a concave fan carving with 24 sections. Each section has a concave top edge. This drawer has a brass drop pull attached to a four-petaled mount. The drawer fronts are solid wood with integral bead molding. The drawers have applied running strips and the sides are full height. The bottom of the lowest drawers is composed of a single board with grain running from front to back and chamfering on the side edges. The drawers are constructed with dovetails and the bottom is let into a groove in the sides and nailed to the underside of the front and back. The drawers rest on runners that are attached with sliding dovetails. The lower case has one horizontal divider and two vertical dividers all attached with rabbets. The scribe lines on each joint are particularly clear.
