The back has a continuous faux grained rectangular tablet. Plain gilded rectangular tablets alternate with tablets that have stenciled and painted grape and oak leaves painted on a brown background. The tablets have striping in brown and white. The turned and curved rear stiles are faux grained and are continuous with the back legs. The fronts of the upper sections of the stiles, below the crest and above the seat, have narrow vertical rectangles of gilding with a brown shadow line on the right side. The outer stiles extend beyond the tablet and are beveled at the top. Three narrow, round, horizontal splats, painted yellow, faux grained, and striped are grouped close together and run between each pair of rear stiles.    The seat is covered in dun-colored painted rush. A skirt is nailed to the seat frame on all sides and painted with faux graining and striping. The seat rails are exposed at the front corners, faux grained, and striped. The seat is cut away at the back corners to fit the rear stiles.    The arms of the chair are flat bent ribbons that are attached to the rear stiles with dowels and attached to the seat rail.    The four front legs are turned at the top and taper to a slightly swelled ring turning below the stretchers, and then taper again to the foot. The legs are joined to the seat rail with a round mortise and tenon joint. The front legs are faux grained with a stylized acanthus leaf stenciled immediately below a ring turning at the top of each leg. The rings at the top of the leg are striped in brown paint. A pair of side stretchers attaches the front leg to the rear leg on both sides. A single stretcher attaches the medial front legs to the medial rear stiles. A single stretcher is attached between each pair of rear legs. Three narrow round stretchers are joined between each of the front legs, echoing the arrangement of splats in the back. The front stretchers are also faux grained and painted. The left arm has a break.
